Implementing technology based on Artificial Intelligence to optimize tasks. Do you face the challenge?

If you are thinking of optimizing your business and automating some tasks or processes by using technology such as Artificial Intelligence, but you do not know how the process will be developed, if so, this post is perfect for you.

To complement it, in this one, we will explain to you the initial planning procedure “the kick-start formula” that we use with our customers for implementing the development of this type of technology.

First of all, here is some advice…

Before development begins, it is necessary that both you and the people who will carry it out have everything clear.

For this purpose, you will find here a set of specific questions, so we recommend you take the time to read them, and finally, organize the necessary meetings until everyone has understood everything.

Important! Have SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and limit time)

These goals will help you get a much closer result to what you already have in mind.

Now that we are ready, let’s start!

1. What do you want to solve?

You will probably think it's an obvious question, but we've found cases where the customer didn't know exactly what they wanted. Resulting in… Changes and more changes! Making the development slower and more expensive for both the customer and us.

Find below some advices in order to answer this question:

✔ Write it down! Once you have written it down, it will become clearer to you.

✔ Include details, definitions, photos, schemes... In most cases development is carried out by an external person, who will perform those tasks that want to be optimized, so make it understandable to everyone.

✔ Include a list of all the objectives and functionalities. Don’t get shorthanded, you decide what your goals are.

✔ Once you have written all, read it and proceed to edit it.

2. What impact will it have on the company or what do you want to achieve?

Now that you have clear what you want to solve, the next question will be, how will the work change once it is implemented?

For this, imagine that it has already been implemented, so what would you consider a success?

Would you reduce your workload? Would you increase your profit margin in this process?

If you want to reduce the execution time of a particular task, specify what it currently takes to perform it and what your goal is. If you want to increase sales, stipulate the percentage.

If we do not give concrete data, sometimes the result may not become as expected, and going backwards would be very expensive and painful.

So don't hesitate and ask whatever you want!

Don't just stay in the definition, go beyond, give out numbers!

3. Who will lead the project?

Someone from your team must lead the project, someone who has the know-how and the internal information to carry it out, being able to share and explain all this to the development team.

Also, this person will be in charge of validating the results as they are obtained.

An external person can not lead the project, most of the time it is necessary to have an “expertise”

This last option is very rare to find regarding artificial technology, since in most companies the way of approaching the same task is completely different. In this case, customization will be required, so the first or second option will be more appropriate.

In the case of choosing the second option, and having answered all the questions, the company in charge will analyse each of the points and set the necessary time and budget that will require the implementation of this technology.

If the project is long, it can be divided into independent tasks by setting short, medium, and long term goals, in order to obtain functionalities in a small period of time. Therefore, this will result in a very positive impact.

But where could I implement Artificial Intelligence?
